Handmade wood fired ceramic matcha tea bowl – chawan, which is used as tea utensils in traditional Japanese tea ceremony chanoyu (or sado). Strong, self-sufficient and textured.

Relief Surface with Deep Imagery
In this bowl, I experimented with different ways to create relief. The dark clay is applied to the outer walls of the chawan in a special way.
And only the inner surface is glazed by my own recipe.
The matcha bowl was fired in a wood-fired kiln, which showed the special smooth changes in the brown shades of its walls.
